What happened in 2024? A Year in Review

Wow. What a year 2024 has been. As I look back, I feel so much gratitude for everything that’s unfolded, both in my life and in the community we’ve built together. This has been a year of growth, learning, and deep personal transformation. And as much as I want to share everything that’s happened—so much has changed—I want to start by saying thank you. Because none of what I’ve accomplished this year would have been possible without your support, your feedback, and your willingness to show up. So this reflection is just as much about you as it is about me.

Happy fall KangaMama during an outdoor class!

One of my first groups of ladies learning about posture + the pelvic floor!

This year, I’ve really focused on balance. After recovering from bilateral mastectomy and breast reconstruction, I learned the importance of nurturing myself in ways I hadn’t before. I’ve been learning to set better boundaries (a work in progress, always!) and finding space to care for my marriage in a way I hadn’t since becoming a parent. But perhaps what I’m most proud of is how I’ve allowed myself to be open to new connections—especially with other women. For the first time in years, I’ve developed close friendships, and that has made all the difference in how I feel about the community around me. I finally feel like I’ve found my home, and that feeling is something I want to continue sharing with all of you.

This year was also the year of learning. I dove into training after training (I lost count at one point!), all in the name of finding new ways to support women like you on your journeys. From yoga and pelvic health to fertility and doula training, I absorbed everything I could so that I could bring it all back to you—tangible tools that would help you feel empowered, strong, and in control of your body.

But this year wasn’t just about me learning—it was about all of us learning together. From the moment I started offering new services like the Pelvic Floor Workshop, I knew this wasn’t just going to be about what I could offer you—it was about creating a space for you to connect with others who were navigating similar experiences. And what happened was nothing short of amazing. You showed up. You shared. You trusted me with your stories, your struggles, and your triumphs. And in return, I’ve been able to hold space for the growth and healing that has come from those connections.

Whether it was the brand new, well-loved Pelvic Floor Yoga classes, Kangatraining classes growing to the largest numbers I’ve ever had, or the Mindful Birth Workshop where we collectively learned how to approach labor with mindfulness and movement, it’s been a year of building trust and community. And I have to tell you—there’s something incredibly powerful about showing up together, especially when we’re all navigating such different paths. It reminds me that we are all in this together, learning and growing at our own pace, but supporting one another in ways that are deeply meaningful.

Working our butts off in barre class

This year wasn’t all smooth sailing. In fact, there were plenty of bumps along the way—some of which taught me just as much (if not more) than the successes.

For starters, let’s talk about the membership program. When I launched it, I had big dreams. I envisioned a community of women supporting each other, having access to ongoing classes, and building a sense of continuity. But in reality, balancing childcare, homeschooling, a separate part-time job, my growing business, and everything else in life made it incredibly hard to maintain. I realized that, while the idea had potential, it wasn’t sustainable for me right now. I had to step back and acknowledge that, in this season of life, I needed to prioritize the things that fit more easily with my current balance. So, I let go of what wasn’t working and, in doing so, freed up space to focus on what does.

Setting an example for my kids that self-care and movement are important is one of my favorite things to come out of this year

I also had to face the fact that I’ve struggled with marketing and growing my business in ways that felt authentic. I’m sure some of you can relate to this: the pressure to network, put yourself out there, and “sell” without feeling icky. I’ve spent a lot of time this year reflecting on how to grow my business while staying true to myself. What I’ve learned is that it’s a process—and I’m still figuring it out. But I’ve also learned that it’s okay to be in the messy middle, where things aren’t perfectly clear yet. What’s important is that I’m learning, evolving, and slowly finding my way.

But here’s the thing: for every challenge and lesson learned, there have been just as many moments of triumph. Even when things didn’t go the way I’d hoped, I was able to lean into my community—the amazing women who have shown up, given feedback, tested new offerings, and helped me shape this journey. Together, we’ve built something incredible, and I’m so thankful for every step of the way.

Now, as much as I love to look back on what we’ve built, I can’t help but be excited for what’s ahead. If 2024 was about soaking in new knowledge, 2025 is going to be about growth. I’m looking forward to continuing to build on the foundations we’ve laid—together.

Sleeping babies, happy mamas!

More of the classes and workshops that you’ve come to love, but with new offerings that are designed to help you take even more control of your health and your journey. I’ll be launching brand new workshops on Fertility & Menstrual Health and Childbirth Education like you've never seen it before—all focused on giving you the tools to understand your body in a real, actionable way. It’s about helping you feel empowered to make decisions, advocate for yourself, and trust your own body.

I’m also deeply excited to expand my Fertility & Birth Doula Services. I’m bringing everything I’ve learned—movement, mindfulness, pelvic health—to help women feel supported and empowered on their journey to conception and parenthood.

As always, this is about YOU—about the changes you’re making in your life, the questions you’re asking, the support you need, and the strength you already have within you. And I’m here for it all.

As we step into 2025, I’m ready to keep learning with you, to keep building, and to keep sharing the knowledge that empowers us all.

Thank you for being here, for supporting me, and for allowing me to be a part of your journey. Here’s to a year of even more growth, connection, and transformation.

Still using carriers with kids age 3 and 5...will 2025 be the year we outgrow them?
