Do I Need to Be a Mom to Take MomBod Classes? (Spoiler: Absolutely Not.)

One of the most common questions I hear is:
“Can I come to your class if I haven’t had a baby?”
And the answer is a resounding YES.
While I do specialize in supporting pregnant and postpartum women, most of the people who show up to my classes every week?
They’re not moms.
They’re women of all ages and backgrounds who want to feel stronger, more connected to their bodies, and more confident in their movement.
Let’s talk about why.
The pelvic floor isn’t just a postpartum issue.
It’s a foundational part of your core that affects everything from posture to breathing, balance, and even emotional regulation.
And yet—most of us were never taught how it works or how to take care of it.
That’s why Pelvic Floor Yoga can be life-changing at any age or stage.
It’s not about Kegels or crunches. It’s about learning how to coordinate your breath, release unnecessary tension, build deep strength, and connect to the quiet wisdom of your own body.
Whether you're:
This class is for you.
Barre is one of my favorite ways to build functional strength in a way that’s empowering—not punishing. My class is titled Pre- and Postnatal Barre simply because I want to distinguish it from other barre classes that are not designed for women in that stage of life - my class is created differently, and I like to showcase that.
But that doesn't mean it's not appropriate (or even amazing!) for women who aren't moms, too! You'll still get an incredible workout that makes you feel awesome - and unless you're a barre instructor yourself, you probably wouldn't notice the specific nuances that make it so great for pre- and postnatal students!
My classes are designed to be:
Whether you’ve had a baby, plan to have one someday, or don’t want kids at all—Barre is an amazing way to build strength, stability, and confidence.
This slow, deeply restorative class is a favorite for anyone feeling anxious, overstimulated, or simply exhausted.
We hold passive stretches for 3–5 minutes, giving the fascia time to release and the nervous system time to reset.
The class includes:
It’s especially powerful for anyone navigating stress, sleep issues, chronic tension, or pelvic pain. And no, you don’t need to be flexible or “good at yoga” to come to Candlelight Yin. You just need to be human.
Honestly?
They’re for women who are tired of traditional fitness spaces that don’t feel like they see them.
They’re for anyone who:
And yes—moms are welcome too. But you don’t have to be one to belong.
ANYONE who identifies as a woman is welcome in my classes. We all have pelvic floors, and we're all here to find safety, community, and self love. If that sounds like something you're craving, too, then you'll be a perfect fit.
Take a look at the weekly schedule and book into whatever speaks to you—whether that’s Pelvic Floor Yoga, Barre, Candlelight Yin Yoga, or another class that fits where you are right now.
✨ You don’t need to be a mom.
✨ You don’t need to “get fit first.”
✨ You just need to show up.
